Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter melted, for greasing
  • 1 sheet (8.5 oz) puff pastry about 8 1/2 ounces, frozen, thawed but still cold
  • 1 wheel (8 oz) Brie cheese
  • 0.5 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce

Equipment

  • 1 24-cup mini muffin pan

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Brush the cups of a 24-cup mini muffin pan with the melted butter.
  3. On a clean work surface, roll the puff pastry into a 10x15-inch rectangle.
  4. Cut the pastry into 24 squares, each about 2 1/2 inches.
  5. Press one square into each muffin cup.
  6. Cut the Brie into 24 small pieces.
  7. Place one piece of Brie in each pastry cup.
  8. Spoon 1 teaspoon cranberry sauce into each cup.
  9. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden and the Brie is melted.
  10. Cool the bites in the pan for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Keep the puff pastry cold while working for the flakiest cups. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended because the pastry may lose its crisp texture. For a dairy-free variation, use dairy-free butter and Brie.
